On 8th July 2012, the Sikh American community of Dallas Ft. Worth organised a candle light vigil to support victims of Oakcreek, WI Sikh temple shooting on August 5th 2012. People from all walks of life atteneded this event and paid homage to all the people who died at the incident & prayed to god for speedy recovery of those who are still recovering at the hospital. This event was organized at "Sikh Temple of North Texas" in Garland. The event was organized with solidarity being expressed by people from all walks of life, then a small prayer for peace & the soul to rest in peace. Then a candle light vigil was held. Special reference was made for the brave officer who was critically injured during the rescue operation. Then food was served. Atleast 800 people attended this event.
