Comparing the theatre of Delhi with that of Mumbai, the veteran director said, "There's a sense of conformity in the theatre taking place in Mumbai, while in Delhi, you will still find artistes who are taking up issues that matter.

When we asked him what else he liked about Delhi, he said, "The trees shed their leaves in autumn and you drive past those wide empty roads watching them - you won't get that particular sight in Mumbai.
